The term research chemicals can be used to describe drugs that are manufactured in the lab as a result of the mixture of two or more chemicals at a particular temperature to realize a given substance. Due to the nature of their production, they are hardly tested properly to identify the side effects that come with their upsides. The name came about in the period of 1990-2004 as a result of the marketers seeking to move their stocks. During this period very many designer drugs, as they were formerly referred to, found their way into the oblivious market especially through the internet. The name was in a bid to disguise it and beat the US laws governing analogue drugs.

Just the mere fact that they haven’t gone through proper testing is reason enough to shy away from them.  Come to think of it, when you buy it, you voluntarily but unconsciously become a test subject only without pay. The fact is that while other research chemicals such as Etizolam can shrug off a fair amount of its side effects being that it has been used in several cases to manage panic attacks and over anxiety among other problems successfully, the after effects over time are immeasurable to any properly tested substance.  3-Methylfentanyl is one of such drugs that will mess up your system faster than you can say Research chemicals. The substance is an opioid analgesic and has been adversely sold in the black market for a while. This drug, stronger than morphine, became dangerous enough to be used by the Russians as a chemical weapon. Dissolved in halothane it forms Kokol-1 which is an anesthetic gas used in the Moscow theatre hostage crisis in 2002, several hostages died from accidental overdose of the narcotic.

Another killer example is the infamous MPPP otherwise known as desmethylprodine originally developed as a recreational drug by a 23 year old graduate by revising the ester of meperidine skeleton. The kid accidentally developed irreversible symptoms similar to Parkinson’s disease. The drug however continued to be produced illegally finding its way to the hands of drug lords. Parkinson’s disease, for those who have not heard of it before, presents the following symptoms tremor, slowed movement, rigid muscles, impaired posture and balance, loss of automatic movements eg blinking, speech changes and even writing changes.

Research chemicals continue to appeal to the large ignorant population perhaps due to their cheap nature. However there is a reason why cheap is expensive.  Some of the brands that are sold on the streets have been known to cause addiction to them. They reformat the body so to speak in such a manner that it cannot function without them. Withdrawal effects are more devastating than those of any drug, say alcohol as an example. On a good day an ingestion of any designer drug should deliver you instant drowsiness and lack of appetite. Alternatively it could result in hyper activeness.

Respiratory depression is another common outcome associated with Research chemicals.  Slowed respiration rate corresponds to slowed oxygen intake rate meaning the amount of oxygen begins to go down and thus the rate of the heart also slows down significantly. Heart rate, when slowed down, will result in the whole body activities slackening and if not carefully monitored, the heart could stop and affect blood circulation to the brain. The outcome of cutting blood flow to the brain cannot be stressed enough.

Truth is research chemicals producers are just getting started. The fact that they are readily available online where you don’t get to meet face to face with the quacks should be reason enough for you to shy away from the substance lest you realize too late.
